The Story Behind the Piece
This piece carries a beautiful and tender history from a local Venice farm. Ray of Sunshine was a miniature colt who passed away at just one week old in May 2020. His mother, Little Miss Sunshine, passed a year later.
These earrings, featuring Ray's delicate epiphysis, are a part of a larger, ongoing tribute. The remainder of Ray's skeleton is currently articulated and suspended in our home/museum, awaiting the assemblage of his mother’s bones to complete their display. By wearing these unique fragments, you carry a piece of this family's conserved legacy, honoring the delicate beauty of life's brief moments.
