The Story
Ancient Armor, Reimagined. Before there were legends of dragons, there was the Garfish. This 2.5-inch "Hatchling" egg is a tribute to the prehistoric Longnose Gar that patrol Florida’s ancient waterways. The exterior "shell" is meticulously handcrafted using individual ganoid scales salvaged from the Florida Longnose Gar—scales so naturally hard and diamond-shaped that they were historically used as arrowheads.
The soul of this piece is a solid wooden egg, providing a weighted, gallery-quality feel. It sits nestled in a petite, store-bought "collector's nest," ensuring a clean, pest-free, and whimsical addition to your home decor. It is a redemptive work of Bone Botany that looks as if it were plucked straight from a fantasy glade.

Because the scales are naturally iridescent and incredibly durable, the egg has a tactile, armor-like quality that catches the light beautifully. Note on Handling: While gar scales are famous for their durability, this is a fine art sculpture. We recommend keeping it in its nest for display to protect the intricate overlapping of the scale "petals."

Change of Mind: While we cannot offer returns on sculptures due to their delicate nature, we understand that unforeseen circumstances might occur. If you decide you no longer want a sculpture after receiving it, we encourage you to contact us within 7 days. We may be able to offer a store credit, depending on the specific item and its condition.
