The Story Behind the Piece
We harvested this Bullhead Catfish for food, and in an effort to waste nothing, we discovered the surprisingly intricate bones. Who knew fish bones were so interesting and intricate? They are tough to work with, requiring a special touch to degrease and whiten without becoming chalky, so this piece is truly a labor of love. The ribs from this very same fish were also used for my bone blossom sculptures, which means we were able to use every part of the animal to create beautiful art.
