The Story đź’€

At Bone Boutique, transparency and a strict zero-waste philosophy guide every piece we curate. This impressive 11.5-inch wild boar (Sus scrofa) skull carries the same respectful, highly ethical backstory as its predecessor: it was legally trapped on private property as part of a vital local land-management program and responsibly harvested for food.

This particular skull clearly retains the physical narrative of that harvest, featuring an authentic, pinpoint bullet entry cleanly marked on the upper cranium. Rather than allowing these remarkable structures to be discarded, we brought the skull into our studio to honor the animal fully. It underwent our precise processing methods—meticulously cleaned, sanitized, beautifully whitened, and structurally stabilized at our workbench to preserve its rugged, wild history as a lasting work of sustainable art.

The Composition

  • The Specimens: One genuine, legally trapped, and food-harvested wild boar (Sus scrofa) skull with an authentic ballistic entry mark.

  • The Palette: Vibrant, clean bone white that emphasizes the natural, deeply ridged textures of the skull.

  • The Anatomy: A remarkably intact, beautifully proportioned skull showcasing a full, tight row of pristine teeth along the jawline. It beautifully captures the compact, powerful cranial architecture of a wild, foraging hog.

  • The Profile: A compact and high-impact skull measuring 11.5 inches in length from the back of the cranium to the tip of the snout, and standing approximately 7 inches tall at its highest point.

Display & Decor

This skull offers a slightly sleeker, more compact profile, making it incredibly versatile for shelving arrangements, desk setups, or nested within a curiosity cabinet. Because the ballistic entry is positioned so clearly on top, it looks magnificent when displayed at or slightly below eye level—such as on a coffee table layout or a lower office shelf—where the defining details can be appreciated immediately. Pair it with industrial accents, antique brass elements, or stark minimalist backdrops to make the bright white bone pop.
