The Story 💀
Transparency, respect, and a strict zero-waste philosophy are at the core of everything we build at Bone Boutique. This compelling 11-inch wild boar (Sus scrofa) skull carries a powerful land-management provenance: the animal was legally trapped on private property and responsibly harvested for food.
What makes this particular specimen completely unique is the incredible timeline written right into the bone. Following the harvest, the skull sat out in the elements for a period of time, allowing nature to leave its own beautiful marks. You can see a subtle, organic green tint whispering across portions of the bone, paired with genuine rodent chew marks along the top right of the cranium—a true testament to the wilderness cycle. The harvest itself left a remarkably clean entry point that resulted in an intense, dramatic structural blowout along the same side of the head. Rather than discarding this weathered treasure, we brought it to the workbench to completely clean, sanitize, and stabilize it, preserving its rugged survival history as a lasting work of sustainable art.
The Composition
The Specimens: One genuine, legally trapped, and food-harvested wild boar (Sus scrofa) skull with a distinct side-head ballistic blowout, natural weathering, and wilderness rodent markings.
The Palette: Beautifully aged bone white with a subtle, organic green coloration and natural woodland texturing.
The Anatomy: A slightly more compact, hard-angled skull featuring an excellent array of remaining teeth along the jawline. It perfectly showcases the dense, rugged bone structure of a mature wild foraging hog.
The Profile: Measures 11 inches in length from the back of the cranium to the tip of the snout, and stands approximately 7 inches tall at its highest point.
Display & Decor
This specimen is a true collector's piece because of its asymmetry. The side-head blowout and the wilderness chew marks mean this skull completely changes personality depending on which way it faces. Display it on an open shelf, a rustic desk layout, or an industrial mantle at an angle that highlights the clean entry and the intense shattered geometry on the side. It looks incredible when paired next to raw textures like weathered wood, iron pipes, or preserved moss elements that complement its woodland story.
