While these fish are famous for the uncanny, human-like incisors visible at the front of their mouths, the real magic happens deep in their throats. These specialized pharyngeal bones act as a secondary set of heavy-duty jaws, densely packed with flat, molar-like teeth designed to crush through solid rock, barnacles, crabs, and oyster shells with ease.
 
Every piece of this exquisite bone jewelry carries a true local story. Phillip and I haven't caught a sheepshead ourselves yet, so these incredible specimens were generously gifted by a local angler friend who routinely donates his filleted fish carcasses to the boutique. Instead of letting these fascinating anatomical structures go to waste, we step in to meticulously clean and sanitize them, preserving the pristine white bone and the remarkable, textured tooth sockets where the crushing molars once sat. One side of the drop showcases the intricate, evolutionary design of the bone, while the reverse reveals the jaw's powerful crushing surface—making them a brilliant conversation starter for beachgoers, marine biology enthusiasts, and collectors of the avant-garde.
