The Story & Ethical Sourcing

These hair barrettes elevate raw anatomical elements into functional, everyday hair adornments. Offered in two distinct osteological options, each piece carries an authentic, ethically sourced story:

  • Young Goat Femur Option: Sourced from Inverness Farms in Venice, Florida. This delicate 3-inch bone came from a very young specimen; its unfused growth plates (epiphyses) naturally detached, leaving a smooth, slender shaft that highlights the soft beauty of juvenile bone structure.

  • Raccoon Metacarpal Option: Sourced from a local raccoon ethically salvaged following a fatal vehicle collision on the roadway. Preserved with care, this 2-inch paw bone serves as a subtle, grounding nod to wildlife preservation and natural history.

  •

Composition & Craftsmanship

  • Bone Focal Choices:

    • Option A: 3" Juvenile Goat Femur.

    • Option B: 2" Raccoon Metacarpal.

  • Hardware: 2¼-inch gold-tone alligator-style hair barrette clip with non-slip teeth.

  • Wirework: Hand-wrapped and secured with gold-tone wire accents.

  • Origin: Designed and handcrafted by Michele Moore in North Port, Florida.

Style & Wearability

Designed to secure sectioned hair, bangs, or up-dos with a unique edge, these 2¼-inch barrettes combine sleek, polished gold-tone metal with raw, organic bone textures. Whether worn individually or stacked together, they make a memorable statement for lovers of dark academia, oddities, and organic fashion.
