The Story
The Armor in Bloom. This sculpture is a masterclass in the "Bone Botany" philosophy. The Plecostomus, often known as the "armored catfish," is covered in hard, textured bony plates and scales rather than soft skin. Here, those protective scales have been individually hand-set to create a lush, multi-layered "Blossom" that mimics the delicate reach of a lotus or dahlia.
Seated upon a 4-inch natural round slate base, the stark white of the bone against the deep, earthy stone creates a dramatic, high-contrast focal point. It is a transformation of defensive armor into an ethereal centerpiece—a redemptive tribute to the complex beauty hidden within Florida’s waterways.

Corner The "Plecostomus Blossom" is a tactile, 360-degree sculpture designed for tabletop display. Unlike our framed "Bone Botany" pieces, this work is meant to be viewed from every angle, making it a perfect center-piece for a coffee table, a meditation altar, or a curated bookshelf. The weight of the slate adds a grounded, gallery-grade feel to the piece.
Note on Handling: While the Plecostomus scales are naturally sturdy, this is a fine art sculpture and should be handled with care. We recommend placing it in a low-traffic area where its intricate "petals" can be admired safely.

Change of Mind: While we cannot offer returns on sculptures due to their delicate nature, we understand that unforeseen circumstances might occur. If you decide you no longer want a sculpture after receiving it, we encourage you to contact us within 7 days. We may be able to offer a store credit, depending on the specific item and its condition.
