The Story
The Lateral Wing Concept. Biology is full of hidden symmetries, and this pair is a masterclass in perspective. By departing from the vertical, "North-South" alignment found in a living specimen, we have reimagined the Raccoon Sternum as a set of ethereal wings.
This design utilizes the Manubrium (the uppermost portion of the breastbone) and an individual Sternebrae segment. By drilling through the bone and positioning it horizontally, we have transformed a protective skeletal shield into a celebratory, lateral flight. Salvaged from our local roads, these bones have been redeemed from an environmental tragedy and elevated into a vibrant, high-contrast tribute to the wild residents of the Suncoast.
The Composition
An architectural design that plays with bright light and anatomical geometry.
The Bone: Ethically salvaged Raccoon sternum elements (the Manubrium and Sternebrae), hand-cleaned and filed for a porcelain-white finish.
The Accents: A singular, yellow faceted rondelle glass bead paired with a vibrant teal and lime-swirled glass focal point.
The Metalwork: Side-drilled and finished with professional .925 silver-plated fishhook findings.
Length: A stylish, high-movement drop of just under 2 inches.

Change of Mind: While we cannot offer returns on sculptures due to their delicate nature, we understand that unforeseen circumstances might occur. If you decide you no longer want a sculpture after receiving it, we encourage you to contact us within 7 days. We may be able to offer a store credit, depending on the specific item and its condition.
