The Composition:
The Bone: Each earring features a stack of five genuine Plecostomus vertebrae. These are "armored" fish, and their vertebrae possess unique, delicate prongs that create a striking, jagged silhouette. No two vertebrae are identical, making each stack a one-of-a-kind natural sculpture.
The Gemstones: We’ve paired these white, skeletal forms with a rhythmic stack of deep purple Amethyst and soft lilac Lepidolite.
6mm round Amethyst and Lepidolite beads intersperse the vertebrae.
A 4mm Lepidolite topper finishes the stack.
The piece is anchored by a substantial 7mm x 5mm hand-faceted Amethyst rondelle.
The Hardware: Fitted with high-quality .925 silver-plated circle lever-back findings for a secure, comfortable fit.
Style & Wear Note: With a 3-inch drop, these are statement earrings. While sturdy, the tiny prongs of the vertebrae can catch on loose hair; we highly recommend wearing these with an up-do or shorter hair to allow the "Dragon's Spine" silhouette to stand out clearly and safely.
