I have been waiting for the right moment to finish these. I’ve had this exact pair of fish bones set aside for a long time, just waiting for the right inspiration to adorn them. After I found my rhythm with the Raccoon Scapulae in this collection, I knew it was finally time to bring these to the bench.
These are definitely fish bones, though their specific origin remains a mystery of the sea. I carefully drilled into the bone and used bead wire to weave in these incredible 11-0 turquoise seed beads—a "fancy" grade that was recently donated to me. I wanted to make sure the structure was perfect, so I used 301 stainless steel posts for a secure, permanent bond once the curation was complete.
They are fabulous, lightweight, and carry a real presence.
