This commanding statement jewelry set is the ultimate celebration of skeletal architecture, crafted from an ethically road-salvaged Florida Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina).
 
The focal point of the necklace features a prominent cervical vertebra—expertly positioned right where it would meet the shell—serving as a bold central pendant. Radiating upward from the pendant are the elegant, winged curves of the turtle's epiplastron (part of the lower shell structure), flowing into a strand intricately wired with additional tail vertebrae. Patiently cleaned and whitened to a flawless, porcelain studio finish, this set transforms salvaged local natural history into an unforgettable, high-contrast work of art.
 
The Composition
The Specimens: Genuine, ethically salvaged Florida Common Snapping Turtle bones (including focal vertebrae and the sweeping epiplastron elements), road-recovered locally.
The Palette: A striking combination of pristine, bright studio-white bone paired with high-clarity, light-refracting clear crystals and bright silver components.
The Anatomy: Features a large, structurally complex forward vertebra as the main pendant, flanked by two curved bone plates from the plastron, transitioning into a symmetrical strand of sharp, star-like caudal vertebrae.
The Engineering: Entirely handwired using premium, non-tarnish silver wire. The design is meticulously accented and balanced using 8mm round faceted Preciosa crystals alongside sparkling 6mm bicone crystals.
The Profile: The necklace measures a classic, comfortable 18 inches in length. The matching earrings offer a dramatic, elegant 2.5-inch drop that echoes the exact style and crystal flow of the necklace strand.
