At Bone Boutique, transparency, respect, and a strict zero-waste philosophy guide every piece of wearable conservation we design. This striking pair from our Anatomical Loom Collection represents the perfect marriage of textile craftsmanship and natural science. The specimens utilized are the coracoid bones—part of the structural pectoral girdle—from a Florida Softshell Turtle (Apalone ferox) ethically salvaged from our local area roads.
 
Instead of letting this remarkable skeletal anatomy be forgotten, we drilled precise micro-holes directly into the bone and hand-wove a vibrant structural tapestry using premium seed beads. By seamlessly interlocking colorful glass beads directly into the whitened specimen, this design breathes magnificent, tactile new life into a salvaged local treasure.

The Specimens: Genuine, ethically salvaged Florida Softshell Turtle coracoid bones, road-recovered locally.
The Palette: A pristine, smooth studio-white bone acting as a canvas for a rich, multi-colored weave of deep blues, striped glass, fiery reds, and golden-amber accents.
The Anatomy: Highly unique coracoid elements from the turtle's pectoral girdle, showcasing a sleek, flared, wing-like architecture that frames the face beautifully.
The Engineering: Handcrafted using a mixture of premium Czech and Chinese seed beads carefully interwoven directly through the bone. The elements are securely suspended via a 9mm silver-plated jump ring from a comfortable, secure circle leverback finding.
