These handcrafted squirrel bone evil eye earrings showcase the squirrel Atlas vertebra as their focal point. The Atlas is the very first cervical vertebra, responsible for supporting the globe of the skull—making it a deeply symbolic foundation for a protective amulet.
 
Because each individual squirrel possesses only one Atlas bone, every pair requires a closely matched set of specimens curated from two separate animals. These specimens are ethically salvaged from local Florida roadkill, transforming a tragic roadside loss into a stunning, symmetry-driven second life.
 
Flanking each sculptural vertebra are two vibrant, 6mm bright blue glass beads bearing the classic, watchful Evil Eye motif to turn away negative energy.
 
Processing small, intricate wild game bones requires immense patience and precision. We take these specimens from their rawest form—meat on the bone—and guide them through a rigorous, multi-step studio transformation. Through months of meticulous hand-flushing, macerating, deep degreasing, whitening, and strict sanitization, we turn raw salvage into fine art. This lengthy, dedicated process guarantees absolute purity, hygiene, and a definitive provenance you can wear with pride.

The Specimens: Two closely matched, ethically salvaged eastern gray squirrel Atlas vertebrae (Sciurus carolinensis), completely processed from scratch in-studio.
The Palette: A classic, crisp contrast of snow-white bone, brilliant sky-blue glass beads with sharp black-and-white protective eyes, and polished silver tones.
The Loom/Build: A perfectly balanced vertical stack where the winged, architectural symmetry of the squirrel Atlas bone sits nestled directly between two 6mm glass evil eye beads.
The Hardware: High-quality .925 silver-plated ball head pins and matching .925 silver-plated French-style fish hook ear wires, offering a sleek, hypoallergenic finish.
